ONLINE SESSIONS NOW AVAILABLE!
Is hypnosis mind control, will I be asleep or remember what happened?
Hypnosis is not mind control or deep sleep, in fact you will be aware of (and will remember) what happens during the session and even be able to communicate with the facilitator during the session. During hypnotherapy you have a specific intent to achieve your desired outcome and you will naturally reject any suggestions that go against your inner beliefs and morals.
Is hypnosis like the shows you see on stage or TV?
Hypnotherapy should not be confused with “stage hypnosis” which is purely for entertainment (and often involves a ‘setup’). Whereas in hypnotherapy the goal of the hypnotherapist is to assist you to achieve your desired outcome. This is also why it’s important to choose a reputable hypnotherapist.
How do I choose a hypnotherapist?
It is important that you choose a hypnotherapist that you trust and that you have a good relationship with. Also, it is advisable that you choose a hypnotherapist that has been professionally trained and that is a member in good standing with a reputable hypnotherapy organization where members are bound by a Code of Ethics and are required to fulfill annual requirements (such as Continued Professional Education).
How many sessions will I need?
Usually 3 sessions are required per issue, sometimes more, sometimes less. It really depends on the individual, as well as the issue/s being addressed.
How much does it cost?
Sessions are R800.00 each and are usually between 1 and 2 hours each.
Should my hypnosis session be recorded?
The short answer is no, not unless there is specific need. Because changes in our behaviour happen at a sub-conscious level, it's best if the conscious mind doesn't over-analyze or 'pick apart' the session by listening to it over and over, possibly undoing any good work done with the sub-conscious mind. It is like planting seeds in the ground and then digging through them afterwards, which disrupts the germination process.
How do online sessions work?
I use Zoom as a platform for online sessions. Bookings are done in the same way as in-person sessions (via Whatsapp or e-mail, with a confirmed date and time for our appointment). If you are not familiar with Zoom, I will usually schedule a quick 'test run' the day before so that you know how to join the Zoom meeting, etc.
Online sessions are great for most hypnotherapy work but unfortunately they are not suitable for deep regression work, or for therapy with children, those are best done in person, to get the best possible outcome.
