Is hypnosis mind control, will I be asleep or remember what happened?
Hypnosis is not mind control or deep sleep, in fact you will be aware of (and will remember) what happens during the session and even be able to communicate with the facilitator during the session. During hypnotherapy you have a specific intent to achieve your desired outcome and you will naturally reject any suggestions that go against your inner beliefs and morals.
Is hypnosis like the shows you see on stage or TV?
Hypnotherapy should not be confused with “stage hypnosis” which is purely for entertainment (and often involves a ‘setup’). Whereas in hypnotherapy the goal of the hypnotherapist is to assist you to achieve your desired outcome. This is also why it’s important to choose a reputable hypnotherapist.
How do I choose a hypnotherapist?
It is important that you choose a hypnotherapist that you trust and that you have a good relationship with. Also, it is advisable that you choose a hypnotherapist that has been professionally trained and that is a member in good standing with a reputable hypnotherapy organization where members are bound by a Code of Ethics and are required to fulfill annual requirements (such as Continued Professional Education).
How many sessions will I need?
Individual sessions:
Usually 3 sessions are required per issue, sometimes more, sometimes less. It really depends on the individual, as well as the issue/s being addressed.
Corporate services:
For best results, our workshops are designed to include one session per week, for 5 weeks. However workshops are tailored to each company's requirements, so the number of sessions could vary, depending on the company's requirements.
*Minimum 6 delegates per workshop
Paediatric services:
Given the diverse nature of paediatric cases, outcomes can vary significantly from one case to another. Therefore, we recommend contacting us to discuss your specific situation so that we develop an appropriate therapy plan together. Typically, an initial session is scheduled, followed by a follow-up appointment one month later.
How much does it cost?
Individual services:
R500.00 per session (or 3 sessions for R1 200.00)
Corporate services:
Quote available on request
Paediatric services:
Between R250 and R500 per session
How do online sessions work?
I use Zoom as a platform for online sessions. Bookings are done in the same way as in-person sessions (via WhatsApp or e-mail, with a confirmed date and time for our appointment). If you are not familiar with Zoom, I will usually schedule a quick 'test run' the day before so that you know how to join the Zoom meeting, etc.
Online sessions are great for most hypnotherapy work but unfortunately they are not suitable for deep regression work, or for therapy with children, those are best done in person, to get the best possible outcome.
What about Religion?
Hypnosis teaches you to quiet your mind to focus on your personal goals and values, therefore it is not associated in any sort of religious context.
Can someone else in my family see the same hypnotherapist?
Generally it is recommended that each family member see their own hypnotherapist. Family members seeing the same hypnotherapist can create a conflict of interest and confidentiality issues, potentially hindering the therapeutic process for each individual.
